Make an exclusive getaway with a small group of friends or family at the cosy, colonial-styled safari camp, Londolozi Pioneer Camp, which lies deep in an ancient forest of water matume and ebony trees.

Over eighty years ago on the very spot where the Varty pitched their tents, Londolozi Pioneer Camp was born. Accommodating no more than twelve people, it's situated on a gentle rise, so that you look out onto the surrounding bushveld and the river below, observing the African wildlife unobtrusively. Each of the six exclusive suites has river views and been decorated in classic safari style, with luxurious finishes that include a romantic sala (intimate covered deck) and fireplace. The lodge offers child minders, and comfortable living areas that feature antiques and Africana, books about the region and welcoming sofas and armchairs. The open kitchen at is adorned with old-style crockery, cutlery and cooking implements, and mealtimes are an interactive experience. Londolozi favours organic produce, free range game and herbs, all from the reserve's kitchen garden. A venue is available for bush banqueting.

It's located on the banks of Sand River, in the prime game viewing area within Londolozi Private Game Reserve, in the heart of Sabi Sand Game Reserve, on the western border of the Kruger National Park in South Africa. The reserve offers the Londolozi Cub and Future Nature Bush School programmes, which are geared at opening up the magic of the wilderness to your children.
