Have a real wilderness experience at this fun and flamboyant lodge, set on a hilltop and looking out over a lush valley and clay-coloured cliffs from which it draws its name.
This innovative and creatively designed lodge represents the new crown jewel in the Kwandwe Private Game Reserve repertoire. Your wilderness experience is perfectly complemented by a touch of stylish living, combining a clean modern style, burgundy colours and retro lighting, to create a warm and stylish atmosphere. Andy Warhol-style paintings add a colourful splash across the walls, and stone-and-mesh gabion walls, sliding glass, timber and gauze doors and corrugated iron roofing jazz up traditional game reserve designs. There are 6 stylish suites that are spacious, comfortable and echo naturalness in burnt aloe, orange, rust and olive hues. Furnishings combine clean contemporary lines, with traditional collectables. There's a craft shop, personal butler and ranger, and a children's interpretive nature centre. Enjoy a smorgasbord of flavours, sights and sounds in the vibrant and interactive kitchen.
The lodge is set along the steep banks of the Great Fish River in the malaria-free Kwandwe Game Reserve, in the Eastern Cape, South Africa. Enjoy bush walks, fishing, canoeing, archaeological, Battlefield & historical tours to Grahamstown, organised picnics, bush sundowners, rhino-tracking and visits to hides.
