Built on the banks of the Sabie River, the quiet Ivory Lodge lies within Lion Sands Private Game Reserve, which has been family owned and managed since 1932.
The Sabie River is the largest river system within the greater reserve and extending onto the open sand banks of the Kruger National Park, Lion Sands Ivory Lodge faces south. The six 165m² luxurious suites at Lion Sands Ivory Lodge are positioned at least twenty metres apart, and are linked to all areas by raised wooden walkways. Suite features include amazing views over the game-rich Sabie River. Watch an African sunrise as you indulge in the specially-baked buttermilk and raisin rusks. All pastries and breads at Lion Sands Ivory Lodge are freshly baked daily by the lodge's pastry chefs. Bush breakfasts are often served on game drives at the river hide or on the open plains at a full table filled with culinary delights. Bush dinners at Lion Sands Ivory Lodge are served out on the wooden decks under the shade of the Mahogany trees, in the boma. A glass of chilled wine and a platter of South African cheeses, spicy beef biltong and homemade samoosas will be served on game drives. Other attractions include a tree house, hot air ballooning and astronomy on game drives.
Johannesburg is a five-hour drive away and Skukuza Airport is a mere twenty five-minute drive away.
