The most affordable of Botswana's parks is the popular Chobe National Park, located in the north-west of the country, near the borders of Zambia, Zimbabwe and Namibia, Chobe National Park.

Covering nearly eleven thousand square kilometres, it's the second biggest national park in Botswana. It's no secret that Chobe has some of the finest game viewing in Africa and is rich in birdlife. This delightfully wild region within Botswana is divided by rivers teeming with animals, especially elephants, which sometimes wander the streets and campsites of the main town of Kasane.

Chobe National Park is divided into four main ecosystems, namely the dense forests in Chobe River, Savuti Marsh, the Linyanthi Swamps, and Nogatsaa. Each of these destinations offers a unique experience.

The park is best visited during the dry season lasting from May to October when the animals flock to the river, making them easy to see. The perfect time for game viewing is during Chobe's hottest month, October. Just a warning: it's the most uncomfortable time to visit, as not only is the heat oppressive but the likelihood of rain is high.

The rainy season is the best time for wildflowers and bird watching. It's from November to March, with a peak during January and February. Even though this is Chobe National Park's warmest and most humid time, the air abuzz with mosquitoes and areas of clay soil becoming difficult to traverse, it's still a delightful period to visit. Many animals give birth during this time, and grazing is abundant.
