Cedarberg

The Cedarberg Mountains lie north of Cape Town, approximately two hours drive, where the country-side becomes wilder, warmer with a raw, dramatic beauty. The towering Cedarberg mountains preside over a fruit-filled valley laden with the scent of orange blossom in the spring. En route to the Cedarberg you may like to travel via the picturesque village of Tulbagh with its excellent wine estates, or spend some time on the West Coast with its unique picturesque fishing villages and long sandy beaches, perfect for sun worshippers. (Adventure-seekers will enjoy quad biking on the sand dunes and whale-watching boat cruises.)

Once in the Cedarberg, you can journey to the mission village of Wuppertal, walk in the mountains and explore the ancient San rock art of the Bushmen people. Or simply relax and swim in the natural waterfall rock pools, enjoying the exhilarating peace of one of the most beautiful and peaceful areas of South Africa.
