The spacious layout of the house encourages guests to mingle and chat at the bar in the main living room or as they admire the views from the deck on their way out to the pool. But for those seeking a bit of space and solitude five of the rooms have their own private outdoor terraces – one with a view of Table Mountain, one near the pool and three sharing a lush tree-shaded lawn with views of Signal Hill.
Each room but one has its own private outdoor terrace for guests seeking a bit of space and solitude. All the rooms have showers and two of them have free standing baths.
Formerly the offices of a film production company and then a private house, 51 on Kloofnek has been extensively renovated and decorated with a playful French flair and subtle hints of Africa in the flamboyant touches of colour. High ceilings, neutral walls and wooden and marble tile floors provide a cool, sophisticated background for original artwork and rich texture throughout.
51 on Kloofnek is fabulously situated for both the pulsing town life and the laid-back beach setting of Camps Bay, there are plenty of good bars and restaurants within a short distance of the guesthouse.
What makes 51 on Kloofnek quite unique, however, is the Pool Room that provides another separate social hub. Not only does it offer another chill out area with a bar and a large TV screen, but a good quality gas hob and small kitchen area for any guest who might prefer to eat in occasionally.
