Become royalty in this sumptuous award-winning safari lodge, set deep in the heart of the rare Dry Sand Forest, in one of South Africa's most exclusive game reserves.
The spectacular stilted suites of Phinda Forest Lodge are an exemplary exercise in building eco-sensitive structures with a light footprint. The sixteen air-conditioned glass suites are built on stilts and appear to float between the rare Dry Sand Forest floor and the towering torchwood trees. The suites are situated to ensure absolute privacy, and each has a personal bar on its private veranda. Delicious pan-African cuisine is served to you on the deck overlooking the grassy plains or in the boma (outdoor dining area) illuminated by dozens of candles and lanterns. You can also enjoy adventurous breakfasts and romantic dinners in spectacular African safari locations. The lodge has a safari shop.
Phinda Forest Lodge lies within the more than twenty two thousand hectares of Phinda Private Game Reserve, in the Maputaland region of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. Phinda neighbours the Greater St Lucia Wetland Park – a World Heritage site – to the east and is only 30km due west of the white-fringed beaches of the Indian Ocean. By road it's six hours from Johannesburg and three hours from Durban. At no extra cost, the lodge offers stunning safari activities, such as game drives, interpretive bush walks, canoeing on the Mzinene River, White Rhino tracking, or a sunset or sunrise Mzinene Riverboat Cruise.
