Embark on a romantic Big Five game viewing adventure at the intimate Amakhala Safari Lodge with its unique thatched safari huts set amongst the Eastern Cape bushveld.

Tucked away in a magnificent valley at the northern boundary of the 7000 hectare Amakhala Game Reserve, the Amakhala Safari Lodge can comfortably sleep twenty-two people. In addition to the four original safari huts there are two new luxury suites complete with private plunge pools and separate lounge areas. Rooms are luxuriously decorated with large beds draped with mosquito netting, colonial furniture and delightful African finishes. Canvas drop-blinds open up the huts, and the central lounge to views of a small waterhole frequented by wildlife. Guests can have an intimate bush wedding at the lodge, which caters for up to twenty-four guests. Game drives in the region are some of the best in South Africa, where guests can experience the Big Five.

The Amakhala Safari Lodge is situated within the Amakhala Game Reserve between the Shamwari Game Reserve and Addo Elephant National Park in the Eastern Cape Province.
